WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • The Medical Assistant Trainer will serve as a training mentor for the back office staff from onboarding to annual training. Must be experienced in Medical Assisting and flexible with training techniques. You are expected to travel to any/all of the clinics. The job operates within established parameters and influences development and/or decisions regarding new policies or guidelines. The position is responsible for quality clinical support care in a clinical setting. Additional responsibilities include call processing for the clinic and associated staff accountability at the clinic. This position has decision-making authority within the scope of responsibility and requires innovation/tenacity to improve internal processes. The consequences of errors result in suboptimal patient care and poor clinic workflow. Please note that the items listed below are not all-inclusive of the standards expected of AFC

     

  • Onboarding: Including but not limited to Medical Assistants, Externs, and MA Temp staffing

    • Perform new hire systems onboarding - user set up, function and purpose of systems, and review any associated SOP 

    • Ensure clear communication of new hire training schedule to all stakeholders

    • Conduct onsite training for all new staff (flexibility needed)

    • Ensure their time cards are correct for Clinic Managers

    • Assist with developing and implementing training programs to meet company goals, including designing curricula and teaching classes

    • Conduct training needs assessments to identify areas where new hires need to be trained in order to perform their jobs effectively

    • Provide 2-week hands-on training

    • Schedule follow-up training as needed

    • Communicate issues to Clinic Manager, Training manager, and/or HR

  • Training
    • Introduce and insure consistent use of SOP’s across all locations

    • Train the clinics/leads/clinic coordinators as needed

    • Assisting with the development of treatment plans based on employee needs and goals

    • Administer ongoing support and supplemental training as requested by Clinic Managers

    • Monitoring employee progress throughout the training process to ensure that they are meeting the requirements of the program

    • Assist with developing training materials such as workbooks, manuals, handouts, and other learning aids

    • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs based on employee feedback or results of follow-up tests or evaluations

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by your manager

SCHEDULES THAT WORK FOR LIFE

Full-Time ~ 40 hours/week.

  • Set shifts = no guessing game

  • Consistent schedule block:

    • Monday - Friday 8AM-4PM

 

LOCATION

  • NE Portland Clinic located at 7033 NE Sandy Blvd., Portland, OR 97213
  • Some travel between clinics required to accommodate training needs

 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We want driven, friendly, and detail-oriented Medical Assistants who bring positive energy and put patients first. Must thrive in a fast-paced setting and be willing to wear multiple hats.

You'll Need:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Certificate from a Medical Assistant program or equivalent on-the-job training, required

  • 1+ year experience in a medical office, preferred (urgent care experience is a bonus!)

  • 1+ year experience in a supervisory and/or training role
  • X-ray experience (RT or LXMO)? Even better!

PAY & PERKS

  • $28-$33 /hr (based on experience)
